Job summary

Ambercare – an Addus family company is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides (HCAs) to support seniors and people with disabilities in their own homes. The role requires calling in for assignments each morning, following care plans, assisting with personal care, meals, housekeeping, and transportation to appointments.

You will work on an on-call basis with 5 days per week and at least one weekend day, averaging 40 hours with 20 guaranteed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Call office every morning for assignment.
• Follow care plans and report completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor’s appointments, grocery store and errands.
• Assist client with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition.
