Job summary

The City of Estacada is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Library Specialist I to join the Estacada Public Library team. This part-time, in-office role offers 15 hours per week with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability at 825 NW Wade Street, Estacada, OR 97023.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily operations, shelving, circulation duties, and helping patrons with computers and accounts. Prior library experience is desirable; accommodations available upon request.

Qualifications

• Experience working in libraries is desirable.
• Experience and/or training in using a variety of computer equipment and programs is desirable.
• Any combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may be substituted for the above.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day operations of the library.
• Handle check-in, sorting, shelving and shelf reading to keep materials organized.
• Create library cards and assist patrons with their accounts.
• Check materials in and out and take holds requests.
• Check in and route courier materials and pack crates.
• Shelve materials and perform shelf reading.
• Assist patrons with public computers, copying, and printing.
• Provide helpful, friendly customer service.
• Follow safety rules, City policies, and perform other duties as needed.
