Job summary

Carter Machinery is seeking an Express Lube Technician for our Richmond, VA service team. This weekend-shift role focuses on preventive maintenance, lubrication, and basic inspection of hydraulic and engine systems to support our customers.

Candidates need at least 2 years of shop experience, a high school diploma or GED, a valid drivers license, and the ability to obtain CDL/DOT certification. Strong mechanical aptitude and reliability are essential; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a shop service environment.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid drivers license and ability to obtain CDL/DOT certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Capability of operating boom truck or equivalent.
• Proficiency with service software and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate moving parts of machinery with specified lubricants.
• Inspect fluid levels in engine, hydraulics, transmission, etc.
• Inject grease using hand or air-powered grease gun.
• Drain oil and refill with required amount.
• Collect oil samples for testing and analysis.
• Replace oil and air filters.
• Recommend other services during inspection review.
• Monitor inventories of oil, filters, and related items.
• Inform customers of upcoming service due dates and advise on future service.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
