Job summary

Carter Machinery is hiring an Express Lube Technician in Fredericksburg, VA. The role involves servicing heavy machinery, inspecting fluids, greasing components, and promoting additional services during inspections. A CDL/DOT could be pursued, with required driving credentials and a customer-focused approach.

Starting compensation is $34.97–$43.96 per hour plus shift differential. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with $2,500 paid at hire and $2,500 after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a shop service environment.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain CDL/DOT certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate moving parts of machinery with specified lubricants.
• Inspect fluid levels in engine, hydraulics, transmission, etc.
• Inject grease using hand or air-powered grease gun.
• Drain oil and refill as required.
• Collect oil samples for testing.
• Replace oil and air filters.
• Recommend additional services during inspection reviews.
• Monitor inventories of oil, filters, etc.
• Inform customers of upcoming service dates and future recommendations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
