Lutheran Health Network seeks an ER Registrar to manage patient intake and registration in the Emergency Department. You will gather and verify personal, insurance, and medical information, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of records while delivering compassionate service to patients and families.

In this fast-paced environment you will support documentation, insurance verification, and smooth communication between clinical and administrative teams to facilitate timely patient care.

Competenze

• Post-secondary education in medical/healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare registrations, scheduling, or front desk.
• 0-2 years of customer service experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Greet patients and families professionally to create a positive first impression.
• Register patients for emergency services, collecting required personal, insurance, and medical information.
• Verify patient identity and insurance details and update records as needed.
• Explain and obtain signatures on consent forms, ensuring informed understanding.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of financial obligations.
• Assist patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolve questions.
• Document thoroughly if the patient cannot sign consent forms and note sign-off details.
• Verify insurance plan codes to ensure accurate payment processing.
• Prepare paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits.
• Place patient armbands for proper identification during their stay.
• Notify departments/physicians of patient arrival and follow up if wait times are long.
• Maintain communication during emergency codes and follow facility emergency plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
