Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or training in medical office administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare registration, scheduling, or front desk.
• 0-2 years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Register patients for emergency services with required personal, insurance, and medical information.
• Verify patient identity and insurance details and update records as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and explain each consent prior to signing.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collect co-pays or deductibles and inform patients of charges.
• Assist patients with insurance questions and requirements.
• Document accurately when patients cannot sign consents and when a family member signs.
• Verify insurance and identify proper plan codes for payment.
• Prepare paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits.
• Place patient armbands for identification during their stay.
• Notify departments or physicians of patient arrival and follow up when waiting occurs.
• Maintain communication during emergency codes and adhere to plans.
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance.
