Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families in a professional manner and collect required information.
• Register patients for emergency services and verify personal, insurance, and medical data.
• Verify patient identity and update records as needed.
• Obtain signatures on consent forms and explain each consent clearly.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for billing purposes.
• Collect co-pays and inform patients of financial obligations.
• Assist with understanding insurance requirements and address questions.
• Document thoroughly if patient cannot sign and ensure nursing sign-off when needed.
• Identify proper insurance plan codes to ensure prompt payment.
• Prepare paperwork for quick retrieval and processing of visits.
• Place patient armbands for identification throughout stay.
• Notify departments and clinicians of patient arrival; follow up if waiting times are long.
• Maintain communication during emergency codes and follow facility plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliability.
