Job summary

IGHL Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to serve individuals with developmental disabilities in a non-exempt, on-site role in New York.

You will model respectful interaction, assist with Activities of Daily Living, and help implement programs to promote independence. The role includes medication administration per AMAP/OPWDD certification, supervision during housekeeping, transportation for community activities, and ongoing training to maintain certifications and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license required.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certifications required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with daily living tasks.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication per certification.
• Encourages choice making and supports self-care routines.
• Teaches and supervises daily living activities and hygiene.
• Records documentation and assists with billing as needed.
• Provides transportation supervision for community activities.
• Participates in training such as CPR and safety procedures.
• Covers at other locations as needed by agency.
