Job summary

IGHL seeks a Direct Support Professional to model respectful care for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, supervise programs, and promote independence while adhering to OPWDD guidelines.

A strong emphasis on safety and documentation guides daily tasks. The role requires CPR/SCIP certifications, a valid NYS driver’s license, and willingness to cover shifts at multiple locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license is required.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certifications required; AMAP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication as certified and supervises ADLs.
• Direct support for self-care tasks and mobility needs.
• Implements program goals for communication, independence, and daily living.
• Supervises housekeeping, meals, and nutrition education.
• Encourages recreation, schedules leisure activities, and community outings.
• Maintains documentation and logs for nursing, medication, and safety.
