Job summary

IGH L Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides hands-on ADL assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities within IGHL’s residential program. The DSP models respectful care and supports daily routines in a team environment.

The role includes medication administration under AMAP certification, documentation of care, and supervision during community activities. Requires NYS driver’s license, SCIP/CPR/AMAP certifications, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license.
• SCIP and Adult CPR certifications required.
• Complete and maintain SCIP/AMAP/CPR typography per IGHL policy.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication per OPWDD AMAP certification.
• Provides hands-on assistance with ADLs and personal care.
• Documents logs, including nursing, medication, behavior and first aid.
• Maintains transportation and supervision during community activities when needed.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings; covers at other IGHL locations as required.
