Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems, with a focus on reliability improvements at our Kansas City facility. The role requires programming with Allen Bradley PLCs and hands-on maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• 2-years experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradley platform based programming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently with the EAM system to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintain backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls and set up VFD operations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Work closely with maintenance and assist with troubleshooting electrical problems and provide PLC support across the plant.
