Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to support production equipment at the Kansas City, KS facility. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues, analyze problems, and perform repairs to improve reliability.

The position starts on day shift for up to 2 months before moving to the weekend schedule. We offer health insurance from day one, PTO and holidays, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus and a wellness account.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• 2 years of experience in a closely related role is required.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Observe equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RSLogix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently with the EAM work order system to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintain backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic servo controls and set up VFD operations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on servo motors, brushed DC motors, and induction motors.
• Work with CEPG on machine improvements and provide PLC support across the plant.
• Concisely document set-points and parameters for equipment.
