Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician for our Kansas City area facility. You will troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems on production equipment, perform repairs, and implement programming changes to improve reliability.

You’ll work Friday–Sunday 6:00am–6:00pm after a day-shift training period, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance from day one, paid time off, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Enterprise Asset Management software experience and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500/5000.
• Work efficiently with the EAM system to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with technical staff.
• Maintain backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic servo controls and set up VFD operations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on servo, DC and induction motors.
• Work with CEPG on machine improvements.
• Provide PLC support across the plant.
• Document set-points and parameters accurately.
