Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on production machines, including PLC programming changes for reliability. The role trains on day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to Weekend shift.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience are required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards and the need for service, repair, or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RSLogix 500/5000.
• Work with EAM to document repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with technical staff.
• Maintain backups of programs from electrical devices.
• Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under operating conditions.
• Set up and operate servo controls (open/closed loop) and VFD parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on servo, DC, and induction motors.
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements.
• Use a digital multimeter effectively.
• Provide PLC support across the plant.
• Concisely document set-points and parameters for equipment.
