Job summary

Applied Composites is seeking a CNC Machinist for weekend shifts to operate CNC machines and use existing programming to produce tools and parts to dimensional requirements. The ideal candidate has several years of CNC operating experience, some exposure to CNC programming, and demonstrates initiative as work may be under indirect supervision.

The role involves operating a 5-axis CNC machine, ensuring parts meet tolerances, and collaborating with Engineering & Production to implement

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Previous CNC programming experience preferred.
• Understanding of material properties and characteristics.
• Working knowledge of measuring gauges: micrometers, pin gauges, dial indicator, screw pitch gauge, height gauge, comparator stand/gage.
• Advanced computer knowledge.
• Ability to do trigonometry and geometrical math computations.
• Ability to interact effectively with customers, peers, management, and both technical and non-technical people.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 5-axis CNC machine.
• Run CNC programs to produce tools and parts to dimensional/tolerance requirements.
• Participate in brainstorming and problem solving with Engineering & Production teams.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Recommend new technologies for continuous improvement.
• Follow standard industrial practices for working with composites and other materials.
• Other duties as assigned.
