Job summary

Applied Composites is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift to operate CNC machines and use existing programming to produce tools & parts to dimensional requirements. The ideal candidate will possess several years of CNC operating experience, some exposure to CNC programming, and attributes of a self-starter as this individual will at times work under indirect supervision.

Qualifications

Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
2-3 years of relevant work experience
Previous CNC programming experience preferred
Understanding of material properties & characteristics
Working knowledge of measuring gauges and precision instruments
Advanced computer knowledge and numerical skills
Ability to perform trig and geometrical calculations
Experience with laminating carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar, or other composites preferred

Responsibilities

Operate a 5-axis CNC machine
Run CNC programs to produce tools and parts to dimensional/tolerance requirements
Collaborate with Engineering & Production to solve problems
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Recommend new technologies for continuous improvement
Follow standard industrial practices for working with composites and other materials
Handle other responsibilities as assigned
