Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to lead federal feasibility studies under WRDA, bridging sponsors and USACE, and to manage staff and programs delivering navigational, economic, and environmental studies.

You will oversee client relations, coordinate with Area Business Development Leaders, ensure quality deliverables, and represent HDR in professional organizations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional registration such as PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years design experience and project management in coastal/waterway context.
• Knowledge of USACE permitting and environmental compliance.
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead companywide development and training of staff in channel planning and design.
• Collaborate with market leaders to develop transformative navigable channel ideas.
• Drive staffing planning and open communication regarding production needs.
• Identify market opportunities with Area Business Development Leaders.
• Oversee delivery of project services and ensure quality and consistency.
• Represent HDR at state and national professional organizations.
• Act as project manager for major maritime projects delivering on time.
