Job summary

HDR is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide federal feasibility studies under WRDA and coordinate with ports, state agencies, and USACE. You will manage staff, deliver complex navigational and environmental studies, and lead market-facing efforts to secure project authorizations.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in coastal engineering/planning, strong regulatory knowledge, and a track record of leadership in multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Coastal Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional registration (PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP) preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 15+ years of coastal engineering/planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead coastal and navigable waterway projects and studies.
• Bridge regulatory requirements with environmental and engineering teams.
• Manage staff and program delivery for complex maritime projects.
• Develop client relationships and pursue national opportunities.
• Maintain technical standards and contribute to marketing materials.
