Job summary

HDR, a leading employee-owned firm, is seeking an experienced Coastal & Navigable Waterways Practice Leader to guide federal feasibility studies under WRDA and to strengthen HDR’s maritime market position.

The role bridges local sponsors and the US Army Corps of Engineers, manages staff and a program to deliver navigational, economic, and environmental studies, and secures Congressional project authorization for complex projects.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of coastal engineering/planning experience in consulting or related roles.
  • Ability to bridge regulatory requirements with environmental compliance for navigable waterway projects.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and interfacing with clients and agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead companywide Coastal & Navigable Waterways practice and mentor staff.
  • Manage federal feasibility studies under WRDA and coordinate with USACE and sponsors.
  • Develop market opportunities and pursuit strategies with Area leaders and business development teams.
  • Oversee project deliverables, maintain quality standards, and ensure timely client satisfaction.
  • Represent HDR in professional organizations and drive professional development of staff.
