Job summary

The Pridwin Hotel on Shelter Island, NY is seeking a Dock Master to oversee all dock operations, moorings, and guest waterfront services. You will supervise Dock Hands, manage schedules, and ensure safety and guest satisfaction at the dock and beach areas.

Responsibilities include supervising water sports programming, maintaining facilities, handling transactions, and documenting safety and maintenance concerns for hotel management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; maritime or hospitality certifications preferred.
• Experience in marina operations or hospitality roles.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain; Captain’s license or 6-pack preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee docking and departures of vessels at dual docks and moorings.
• Record docking, mooring transactions and ensure proper fee collection.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards at the dock and facilities.
• Provide assistance and guidance to boaters for a seamless guest experience.
• Supervise Dock Hands and schedule coverage for dock and beach operations.
• Assist guests with beach service and oversee water sports programming.
• Monitor inventory of dock supplies and report safety or maintenance concerns.
