Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support water and wastewater construction on federal installations across the United States.

You will operate backhoes, excavators, loaders and skidsteers, perform trenching and pipe laying, and ensure safe, compliant site work. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent, 4 years of verifiable heavy equipment experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four (4) years of verifiable heavy equipment experience required.
• Field experience with digging operations in city/urban areas preferred.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
• Ability to work well with others on a crew and adhere to safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe, excavator, loader and skidsteer and assist others.
• Perform trenching, pipe laying and water/wastewater main testing.
• Maintain equipment and document maintenance activities.
• Follow manufacturer safety procedures and industry standards.
• Ensure safe working conditions, including trench safety and erosion control.
