Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to support water and wastewater construction projects at sites in Florida near Eglin Air Force Base. Under supervision you will operate backhoes, excavators, loaders and skidsteers and perform routine maintenance.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 4 years of verifiable heavy equipment experience, valid driver's license and ability to work in varying weather conditions. CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have 4 years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment (backhoe, excavator, loader, skidsteer).
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
• Experience digging in city/urban areas around utilities.
• Must pass OSHA/state safety training and maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe, excavator, loader, and skidsteer; provide training to others.
• Perform daily maintenance on construction equipment.
• Carry out trenching, pipe laying, and testing per plans and specs.
• Maintain safe working conditions, including trench safety and erosion control.
