Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks an experienced heavy equipment operator for water and wastewater construction on military installations.

You will operate backhoes, excavators, loaders and skidsteers, perform trenching and pipe work, and maintain equipment in a safety-focused crew environment. Requirements include a high school diploma and 4 years of verifiable experience; a state CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years verifiable experience operating backhoe, excavator, loader and skidsteer.
• Field digging experience near existing utilities.
• Valid state driver's license; CDL preferred.
• OSHA training and safety compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment for water and wastewater utility construction.
• Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain and service equipment; perform daily record-keeping.
• Assist with trenching, pipe laying and backfilling operations.
• Ensure safe trenching, erosion control and material handling.
• Coordinate with crew and other equipment operators.
