Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a construction professional to support water and wastewater projects on federal contracts at military installations nationwide, including Texas. You will assist with trenching, pipe laying, site prep, and material handling while following OSHA rules.

Under supervision, you will perform manual and semi-skilled tasks, coordinate with equipment operators, and help maintain safe work sites. A valid driver's license and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of water/wastewater construction experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Must be a United States Citizen.
• Must pass Federal OSHA and/or State mandated safety training.

Responsibilities

• Perform water and wastewater system construction activities under close supervision.
• Observe and comply with all safety rules, report unsafe conditions.
• Perform physical construction: excavating trenches, pipe laying, backfilling, compaction, water and wastewater main testing.
• Work safely and efficiently, follow performance standards; work is repetitive.
• Ensure safe working conditions including trench safety and bracing.
• Construct and maintain erosion control devices as directed.
• Load, unload, identify, and distribute materials per plans.
• Signal equipment operators for alignment and movement of machinery.
• May operate machinery for water/wastewater construction.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
