Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support water and wastewater construction projects.

You will operate backhoes, excavators, loaders and skidsteers, perform trenching and pipe laying, and maintain equipment while adhering to safety rules on active military installations in Texas. Four years of verifiable equipment experience, a valid driver’s license, and OSHA training are required.

Qualifications

• Four years of verifiable experience operating backhoe, excavator, loader and skidsteer.
• Valid Driver’s License; CDL preferred.
• OSHA safety training completion required; annual refreshers.
• Ability to work well with others on a crew.
• Experience on construction sites near utilities and on military installations.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and perform daily maintenance on machines.
• Execute trenching, pipe laying, backfilling and compaction to spec.
• Load, unload and distribute materials per project plans.
• Maintain safe working conditions and follow safety standards.
• Assist with site preparation and erosion control as directed.
