Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking personnel to perform water and wastewater system construction on military installations across the United States. Positions involve excavations, pipe laying, testing, and site preparation with emphasis on safety and compliance with federal and state rules.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, potential two years of related experience, and a valid driver's license. U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of water and wastewater system construction experience preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License issued by the state where employed.
• U.S. Citizen required.
• Must take and pass Federal OSHA and/or State mandated safety training with annual refreshers.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, performs activities related to water and wastewater system utility construction.
• Observes and complies with all Federal, State and Company safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Performs physical construction including Excavating trenches, pipe laying, backfilling excavations, compaction, testing.
• Works in a safe, efficient manner following performance standards; work repetitive and continuous.
• Ensures safe working conditions including trench safety and bracing.
• Constructs and maintains erosion control devices as required.
• Loads, unloads, identifies and distributes utility materials per project plans.
• Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of machinery.
• May operate machinery for water and wastewater construction.
• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned
