Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is hiring for construction of water and wastewater systems on military installations across the United States. The role includes trenching, pipe laying, safety compliance, and operating light equipment.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, U.S. citizenship, and OSHA safety training; two years of water/wastewater construction experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of water/wastewater construction experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for contract work.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred.
• Must complete OSHA safety training with annual refreshers.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities related to water and wastewater system construction under supervision.
• Observe and comply with safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform physical construction such as trenching, pipe laying, backfilling and main testing.
• Work safely and efficiently, following performance standards; tasks are repetitive.
• Ensure trench safety and proper erosion control.
• Load, unload, identify, and distribute materials per plans.
• Signal equipment operators and may operate machinery as directed.
• Prepare sites to minimize hazards and perform other duties as assigned.
