Job summary

Tighe & Bond, Inc. in Shelton, CT is seeking a Project Engineer 1 to join our One Water Team and help plan, design, and construct wastewater infrastructure across the Northeast.

You will collaborate with industry experts to advance resilient, sustainable water solutions while delivering high-quality deliverables. The role requires a civil or environmental engineering background, PE licensure or near-term eligibility, and a track record in consulting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• At least five years of consulting engineering experience with increasing responsibility in the wastewater industry
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within six months
• Enthusiasm for learning, self-motivation, and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Revit on water or wastewater infrastructure projects
• Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior engineers

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of drawings, specifications, opinions of cost, and reports, from conceptual planning to construction
• Engage in technical discussions about design approaches, budget considerations, and schedule, promoting achievement of client goals on both design-bid-build and design-build projects
• Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary project teams to develop high-quality deliverables that align with client needs and regulatory requirements
• Delegate tasks effectively, mentoring staff engineers, and managing priorities to meet project milestones
• Participate in field work, including site visits, data collection and some construction observation
