Job summary

Water Otter Job Board is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operator and Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain water and wastewater systems and equipment. In this in-person role, you’ll monitor treatment processes, collect data, and perform repairs to support reliable service for communities served by our systems.

You will use PPE, follow safety and environmental regulations, and collaborate with teams on plumbing, construction, and heavy equipment tasks.

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge, pump operation, equipment repair, and maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of water treatment, wastewater treatment, wastewater systems, and water systems; wastewater treatment plant experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) is preferred.
• Basic math, data collection, and analysis skills; ability to perform heavy lifting.
• Experience in the energy and utilities sector, water utility distribution, construction, or tanker and heavy equipment operation is valued.

Responsibilities

• Operate water treatment equipment, wastewater treatment processes, pumps, and water utility distribution systems.
• Monitor water and wastewater systems; collect and record operational data and use basic analysis to identify issues.
• Perform equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, including industrial pump maintenance and repair.
• Support plumbing, construction, and heavy equipment tasks; operate a tanker or other heavy equipment as assigned.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow applicable safety procedures and environmental requirements.
