Job summary

Water Otter Job Board is seeking a Wastewater / Water Treatment Plant Operator to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of facilities. The role requires experience with treatment processes, water equipment operation, and plant upkeep to maintain water quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include operating treatment equipment, inspections, repairs, data reporting, and supporting process improvements while upholding safety standards and reliable water distribution to customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in a wastewater treatment plant and water system operations.
• Knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment operation.
• Experience with pump operation and maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety regulations for water facilities.
• Strong troubleshooting, attention to detail and following procedures.
• Certifications or licenses related to water or wastewater preferred; must obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater and water treatment equipment for optimal performance.
• Inspect and oversee day-to-day treatment processes.
• Repair and maintain plant equipment including pumps.
• Manage water distribution systems for reliable delivery.
• Record data and prepare reports on plant performance.
• Assist in process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Inspect lift stations, well houses, booster systems, and water storage daily; assist with maintenance.
