Water Otter Job Board is seeking a Operator Water-Wastewater II for its Lake Lure, NC operations. This role performs routine operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with EPA standards and state regulations, while maintaining safety and sanitation.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of mechanical experience, including chemical treatment of water.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years mechanical experience, including at least 3 years in chemical treatment of water/wastewater.
• Current second-level operator license per state regulation.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water and/or wastewater treatment equipment.
• Monitor and sample wells and groundwater; adjust treatment levels as needed.
• Detect and report abnormal conditions and safety hazards.
• Repair equipment or shut down for maintenance; assist with major repairs.
• Coordinate with outside maintenance vendors for major repairs.
• Operate pumps, valves and processing equipment to move water through treatment stages.
• Prepare reports and logs on readings, chemical use and operations.
