Nexus Water Group in Newland, NC is seeking an Operator Water-Wastewater I to manage routine operations at our water and wastewater facilities. This role requires monitoring meters, adjusting controls, recording data, and enforcing safety and regulatory compliance.

You will perform repairs, assist with emergency procedures, backwash filters, handle chlorine safely, and maintain logs while traveling between sites and participating in on-call shifts as needed.

Formación

• 2–4 years mechanical experience including at least 1 year in chemical treatment of water and/or wastewater
• Current first-level operator license per state regulation, or ability to attain within 1 year of employment
• Valid driver’s license

Responsabilidades

• Detecting and reporting atypical conditions and safety hazards.
• Operate pumps, valves and processing equipment to move water through treatment processes.
• Assist Lead Operator with emergency procedures and safety protocols.
• Prepare reports and maintain logs on meter readings, tests, chemical and equipment usage.
• Back-washing filters and handling chlorine safely and effectively.
• Clean and maintain treatment plant, pumping stations and wells.
• Travel daily between worksites and be on-call as scheduled.
• Assist with repairs of water/wastewater plant equipment.
