Job summary

Nexus Water Group is seeking a Water-Wastewater Operator I for the Fort Myers area. This entry-level to junior role performs routine tasks across water and wastewater treatment facilities under supervision. You’ll help maintain EPA compliance and ensure safe operations. Training and local travel are expected.

The position requires a high school diploma and a first-level operator license or the ability to obtain one within 1 year. On-site work with on-call rotations is required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years mechanical experience, including chemical treatment of water/wastewater.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of groundwater supplied water systems.
• Ability to read meters, charts and gauges and maintain records.
• Valid driver's license with ability to travel between sites daily.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains water and/or wastewater treatment equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Monitors wells and adjusts treatment levels; samples water as required.
• Detects and reports abnormal conditions and safety hazards.
• Performs routine repairs and coordinates major repairs as needed.
• Maintains logs and reports on meter readings, chemical usage, and equipment status.
