Nexus Water Group in Lake Lure, NC is seeking an Operator Water-Wastewater II to operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems, ensuring compliance with EPA and state standards. Travel between worksites is daily, with on-call duties as required.

Candidates should have 3–5 years mechanical experience in water treatment, a current second-level license, and a valid driver’s license. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years mechanical experience with chemical treatment of water/wastewater preferred.
• Current second-level operator license per state regulation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental limits.
• Monitor and sample well and groundwater in the system; adjust treatment levels as needed.
• Detect and report abnormal conditions, leaks, and safety hazards.
• Perform repairs and coordinate major repairs with outside vendors.
• Activate pumps and processing equipment to move water through treatment stages; dispose of waste per regulations.
• Read meters and gauges, maintain logs and reports of operations and chemical usage.
• Back-wash filters; handle chlorine safely; maintain equipment.
