Job summary

Nexus Water Group is seeking a qualified Operator II to perform routine checks of water and wastewater facilities, ensuring compliance with TCEQ rules and NPDES permits. The role includes preventive maintenance, field inspections, data logging, and collaboration with teams.

The position is primarily field-based with travel between systems; require two years’ related experience, a Class C Water/Wastewater certification, and basic computer skills. On-site work with outdoor environment exposure.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and related technical knowledge in water/wastewater operations.
• Requires two years of directly related experience in water and/or wastewater system operations.
• A Class C Water and/or C Wastewater Certification issued by the TCEQ. Must obtain within 1 year; CSI within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine checks of facilities and ensure compliance with TCEQ or NPDES permits.
• Operate equipment and maintain facility cleanliness; manage supply orders.
• Record daily data for EPA and TCEQ reports; maintain logs.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on water/wastewater systems.
• Inspect pumps, motors, valves and other plant equipment; troubleshoot as needed.
