Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for the Water group across the Southwest region, offering hands-on experience on water and wastewater infrastructure. The internship supports design and construction teams, with exposure to multiple projects and locations including Phoenix, Irvine, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Marcos.

You will work under supervision to apply engineering fundamentals, read design guides, and develop basic calculations while learning software tools commonly used

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited civil engineering program with emphasis in Water/Wastewater or related field.
• GPA and coursework in hydraulics, fluid mechanics or water resources preferred.
• Basic familiarity with design standards and software used in civil engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Reads and applies departmental design guides, standards, and procedures.
• Supports design and construction teams for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Performs routine calculations and assists with equipment/material selection.
