Job summary

Black & Veatch invites you to join as a Civil Engineer Intern in the Water group, supporting design and construction on critical water and wastewater projects across multiple Northeast-region locations. You will learn through hands-on experience and mentorship while contributing to real deliverables.

As an enrolled student in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program, you’ll work with engineering standards, assist with calculations, and coordinate with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• No experience required; enrolled in ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
• 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Water/wastewater, hydraulics, and fluid mechanics coursework preferred.
• Knowledge of design guides and applicable standards related to the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop familiarity with department design guides, standards, and policies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support design and construction of water/wastewater projects.
• Perform routine research and develop equipment/materials recommendations.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods.
• Assist with project schedules, cost estimates, and deliverables.
• Learn internal client needs and external drivers.
• Develop knowledge of engineering software and digital delivery methods.
