Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience focused on water resource projects. The role involves working on fisheries, hydropower, dams and other civil infrastructure, with opportunities to mentor staff and work across multiple sites across the U.S.

and Canada. Travel up to 15% is required. The firm designs and builds solutions for water resources, offering employee ownership, continuous learning, and a balanced work-life environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• P.E. or P.Eng. licensure a plus.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery projects, hydropower, dams, water conveyance, spillways and pump stations.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Design Documentation Reports, Technical Memorandums and other technical reports.
• Evaluate, select and apply advanced structural design techniques.
• Perform structural computations and analysis, by hand and with design software.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand drafting or CAD software.
• Edit project specifications and assist with Project Manual.
• Perform services during construction including submittal review and on-site inspections.
• Develop FEA models and perform linear and non-linear analysis; present results to clients.
• Evaluate and manage planning, design and construction support services.
• Collect field data and analyze to establish conditions for design criteria; provide mentorship.
