Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience focused on water resource projects. The role spans dams, fisheries, hydropower, water conveyance, and related infrastructure across the U.S. and Canada.

The candidate will perform design calculations, develop drawings, and support construction with field data, submittals, and commissioning. Travel up to 15% is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery projects.
• Proficiency with FEA software and structural analysis methods.
• Familiarity with seismic loads analysis methods and codes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Design Documentation Reports, Technical Memorandums and other reports.
• Evaluate and apply advanced structural design techniques and criteria.
• Perform structural computations and analysis by hand and using software.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand or CAD.
• Edit project specifications and assist with the Project Manual.
• Support construction phase activities including submittal review and on-site inspections.
• Develop FEA models and perform linear and non-linear analysis; present results to clients.
• Manage planning, design and construction support services for projects.
• Collect and analyze field data, as-built plans and reports to identify design criteria.
• Mentor other engineering staff.
