Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience focused on water resource work. The role involves varied projects across dams, hydropower, fish passage, and flood control, integrating engineering, environmental, and construction expertise.

The candidate will develop design documentation, perform advanced structural analysis, and contribute to project manuals and field services. Travel up to 15% and mentorship responsibilities are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited University.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• P.E. or P.Eng. licensure a plus.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery projects, hydropower, dams, water conveyance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Design Documentation Reports, Technical Memorandums and other technical reports summarizing project criteria.
• Evaluate, select and apply advanced structural design techniques and criteria.
• Perform structural computations and analysis by hand and using design software.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand drafting or CAD software.
• Edit project specifications and assist with Project Manual preparation.
• Provide services during construction including submittal reviews and on-site inspections.
• Develop FEA models and perform linear and non-linear analysis for clients.
• Evaluate and manage planning, design and construction support services.
• Collect and analyze field data, as-built plans and engineering reports to establish existing conditions.
• Provide mentorship to other engineering staff.
