A reputable, employee-owned firm, they seek a Structural Project Engineer with 5–10 years of experience focused on water resource projects such as fisheries, hydropower, dams, and pump stations. The candidate will work on diverse projects across the United States and Canada, collaborating with engineering, environmental, and construction teams, and advancing design and construction through feasibility,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
• P.E. or P.Eng. licensure a plus.
• Experience with water resource infrastructure including fishery projects, hydropower, dams, water conveyance, storm water networks, heavy grading, water treatment, spillways, and pump stations.
• Experience with FEA modeling software ABAQUS or ANSYS/LS-DYNA.
• Seismic loads analysis expertise: coefficient methods, response spectrum, time history analyses.
• Proficient knowledge of ASCE7, ACI 318/350, AISC 360/341 standards.
• Familiarity with FERC, USACE, USBR codes and requirements.
• Travel up to 15% of time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Design Documentation Reports, Technical Memorandums and project documentation.
• Evaluate, select and apply advanced structural design techniques.
• Perform structural computations and analyses using hand calculations and software.
• Develop project details and drawings by hand or CAD.
• Edit project specifications and assist with the Project Manual.
• Support construction phase with submittal reviews and site inspections.
• Develop FEA models and present results clearly to clients.
• Manage planning, design and construction support services.
• Collect and analyze field data and existing conditions for design criteria.
• Provide mentorship to other staff.
