Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Professional Engineer for Water Resources to contribute to large, multi-discipline transportation projects. You will perform hydrology and hydraulic design work for DOT projects and prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

You will join a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff, taking ownership of tasks from start to finish while meeting budgets and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• 4-10+ years of experience in civil design is preferred.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices.
• Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of MicroStation, InRoads and/or Geopak, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to transportation engineering.
• Hydraulics and traffic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of hydrology and hydraulic design work for DOT projects (i.e., bridges, roadways, highways, freeways, etc.).
• Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
• Work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects.
• Take ownership of project tasks from start to finish
