Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Professional Engineer for Drainage to lead hydrology and hydraulic design on transportation projects. The role involves coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, preparing plans and cost estimates, and interfacing with state and local agencies in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license with 8–12 years of hydraulics experience, and are proficient with MicroStation and ORD, along with industry-standard software like StormCAD and HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• 8–12 years of hydraulics design experience.
• Design of roadway drainage and flood control facilities.
• Experience with transportation and flood control agencies is preferred.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and ORD.

Responsibilities

• Perform and direct hydrology and hydraulic design for DOT projects.
• Prepare studies, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to complete projects.
• Interface with state and local agencies and clients.
• Coordinate meetings with stakeholders and share resources.
• Assist in proposal preparation and budgeting for new projects.
• Meet project deadlines and manage multiple concurrent projects.
