Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Professional Engineer for Drainage to work on large, multi-discipline transportation projects. You will perform advanced hydrology and hydraulics design, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and interface with state and local agencies to deliver studies, plans and cost estimates.

The role requires a PE license and 4–7 years of hydraulics experience, with proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer, plus hydrologic software such as HEC‑HMS/HEC‑RAS.

Qualifications

• Requires Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 4–7 years of hydraulics design experience including roadway drainage, flood control facilities.
• Experience with transportation and flood control agencies preferred.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
• Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic software such as ORD Drainage, StormCAD, PondPack, HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS.

Responsibilities

• Perform and direct hydrology and hydraulic design work for transportation projects (bridges, roadways, highways, freeways).
• Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, technicians, and support staff to complete projects.
• Interface with clients including state and local agencies; coordinate meetings with stakeholders.
• Assist in proposal preparation and manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
