Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer to lead drainage-focused hydrology and hydraulics work on DOT projects. The role involves directing design tasks, preparing studies and estimates, and coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians.

The successful candidate will interface with state and local agencies, manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and mentor junior staff. A PE license and ORD/Drainage proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• 4–7 years of hydraulics design experience on transportation projects.
• Experience with ORD Drainage, StormCAD, PondPack, HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS.
• Strong communication and client interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and direct hydrology and hydraulic design for DOT projects.
• Prepare studies, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, technicians, and staff.
• Interface with state and local agencies and stakeholders.
• Lead meetings and coordinate resources across offices.
• Assist in proposal prep and project scoping and budgeting.
