Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a Business Sector Lead of Water Resources in California to drive strategic direction across service areas and lead profitable growth. You will report to the Executive VP of Infrastructure Solutions and steer project delivery, talent development, and financial performance.

You will partner with market and regional leaders to expand client relationships, pursue major opportunities, and ensure excellence in service delivery across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 15+ years leading complex Water Resources projects.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role with responsibility to grow a business sector.
• Proven track record of P&L ownership, revenue growth, and profitability.
• Strong strategic planning, organizational leadership, and change management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support regional offices and client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year strategic plan for the Water Resources sector.
• Identify and pursue growth opportunities including geographic expansion and new service lines.
• Identify M&A opportunities aligned with market and corporate strategy; integrate acquisitions to unlock synergies.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team; lead succession planning.
• Oversee resources allocation to ensure project success and efficiency.
• Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and long-range forecasting; own the P&L.
• Shape go-to-market strategies with BD and Marketing; sponsor key pursuits.
• Represent the firm at industry events and maintain key client relationships.
