Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to lead drainage and H&H projects across Texas. You will manage planning, design, and construction support within a growing team, while mentoring staff and developing client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in drainage engineering, a Texas PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and strong experience with TxDOT standards, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, and Open Roads Designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Texas Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 7+ years of drainage engineering experience.
• 2+ years of design oversight and training junior staff.
• Experience with TxDOT drainage design for TxDOT projects or other DOTs.
• Familiarity with TxDOT standards and drainage manuals.
• Experience with Open Roads Designer production and drainage modeling.
• Experience with HEC-RAS 1D/2D and stormwater management design.
• Experience with HEC-HMS software.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead and mentor staff.
• Ability to build client relationships and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of water resources projects from planning through design and construction support.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients and subconsultants.
• Provide technical oversight and mentoring to junior staff.
• Support business development and client relationship building.
• Prepare progress reports and review invoices.
• Lead project status meetings and share project updates with stakeholders.
