Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a Water Resources Project Manager to lead projects from planning through construction, coordinating multidisciplinary teams across Texas. You will manage scope, schedule, and budget while delivering high‑quality drainage and floodplain solutions for municipal and transportation clients.

In this role you will mentor junior engineers, develop client relationships, support proposals, and help grow JMT's Water Resources practice in Texas and Colorado.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required (ABET-accredited).
• Texas PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 7+ years in drainage engineering with design oversight.
• Experience with TXDOT drainage design and standards.
• Proficiency with Open Roads and HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of water resources projects from planning through construction support.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and subconsultants.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical coaching.
• Develop client relationships and support business development.
• Prepare progress reports and manage budgets/schedules.
• Assist leadership with proposals and interviews.
• Ensure quality and compliance with design standards.
