Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc in Oakland, CA is seeking a Project Civil Engineer to lead water resources projects from planning through construction, across Northern California and beyond. You’ll manage tasks, mentor junior staff, coordinate with clients and senior technical experts, and grow toward project management leadership.

The role requires strong design skills with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and a CA PE license with some travel.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering.
• California PE license or ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
• Typically 5–8 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Experience in planning, analysis, design and/or construction of water resources facilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Task Manager and technical lead for engineering tasks and project elements.
• Perform and lead analyses, calculations, 3D modeling, and design for water infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
• Mentor junior staff, coordinate with Project Managers and clients, review work.
• Travel to project sites and GEI offices as needed.
