Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Oakland, California seeks a Project Civil Engineer to lead water resources projects from planning through construction.

You will direct technical tasks, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and senior engineers, with opportunities to grow into project management and leadership roles. The role requires CA-registered PE or ability to obtain, 5–8 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
• CA PE license or ability to obtain within an agreed timeframe.
• Typically 5–8 years of relevant civil engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Task Manager and technical lead for engineering tasks, managing scope, schedule, budget, and staffing.
• Perform and lead analyses, calculations, 3D modeling, and design for dams, spillways, levees, pipelines, and water conveyance systems.
• Develop engineering solutions from planning through final design and construction.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and review deliverables per QA/QC procedures and mentor junior staff.
• Travel to project sites and GEI offices as required.
